Hawaii Two Week Travel Guide
Looking for a guide to the enchanting Hawaiian Islands? Look no further for a two week guide to Hawaii including The Big Island, Maui, and Oahu.
Hawaii was our first trip since before Covid and we could not have been more excited to travel again. We spent two weeks in Hawaii and went to the Big Island, Maui, and Oahu. Hawaii has it all- gorgeous beaches, wildlife, unforgettable hikes, bustling cities, authentic food, the unique culture and traditions of Hawaii, and the most kind and welcoming locals. We wanted to see as much of Hawaii as we could in two weeks- all though it is a fast pace I am so glad we got to see a glimpse of the different islands of Hawaii.
First stop- we flew into Maui because this was the cheapest flight we saw. You can fly into any of the airports in Hawaii so pick the starting point that is most convenient and cost effective for you. Be sure to rent a car here as well! We used Turo and loved it- much cheaper than rental companies.
Where to go in Hawaii?
Maui (Lahaina, Road to Hana)- 3-4 Days
The Big Island (Kona, Hilo, Captain Hook)- 3-4 Days
Oahu (Honolulu)- 3-4 Days

Maui: 3-4 Days
Where we stayed? The Plantation Inn and we can not rave enough about them! We had originally planned to stay at another hotel for the last couple of days to save money and cancelled our stay at the Plantation Inn because it is truly heavenly, complete with a gorgeous tiled pool, charming rooms, wonderful people, and the most amazing breakfast every morning!
The Plantation Inn is located right on Front Street in Lahaina and was the perfect place to wander in and out of shops and was driving distance to so many wonderful beaches!
While in Maui we enjoyed exploring the bustling Front Street in Lahaina, shopping and eating and drinking to our hearts content- although touristy we still enjoyed it. In Maui we also went to the Road to Hana which is a must do! We were sure to explore the beaches and float around in the beyond heavenly water- I swear I don’t know what it is but the water just feels so much better than in other places we have been! We could have just floated all day. So we spent a day snorkeling of the Molokini Crater as well! Our time in Maui flew but we just loved it!

Kona: 4 Days
Next Up- Kona! Fly into the Kona Airport and rent another rental car!
The Big Island is known to be more traditional than the other islands in Hawaii! This is very much true- it had a more laid back vibe, less touristy, and felt more like traditional Hawaii. We absolutely loved it! The Big Island was my favorite for sure!
While in the Big Island be sure to check out the Kona Farmer’s market, go on a coffee tour in Kona, Explore the Ali’i Street full of shops and restaurants, drink the most amazing beer and apps at Kona Brewery, Hawaii National Park, and take the drive to the other side of the island and visit the most charming town of Hilo! I would even recommend planning on making Hilo a day trip- it is such a cute area with sweet local shops!

Now off to Oahu for the last stop!
Oahu- 4 days
Fly into Honolulu, get your rental car, and check into your hotel! And avoid Waikiki beach at all costs! It is jam packed with tourists, who have not figured out you can drive 5-10 minutes in almost any direction and run into a beach you’ll have almost completely to yourselves and it is just dreamy!
Oahu is the perfect mix of nature and urban life. You will have limitless hiking options as well as a huge lively city to explore with many unique areas of town to explore!
We really enjoyed the quirky and charming Kaimuki neighborhood with local shops and eats to your delight.
South Shore was another great local shopping area.
Pearl Harbor is a must see when in Honolulu.
Be sure to check out Diamond’s Head or any of the other epic hikes! We did Koko Head– and although truly exhausting the view was absolutely incredible! Be sure to check out Honolulu nightlife and have some fun cocktails on a roof or patio.
Another must do in Hawaii is a Luau- we did our Luau in Oahu and loved it!
We didn’t make it to Polynesian Cultural Center, Kualoa Ranch (where Jurassic Park was filmed) or the Byodian Japanese Temple but heard these were great spots as well!
Take time when you can to shop local, eat local, use local tours when possible, and make contributions to local organizations that give back to the community. We were sure to support organizations like the Pacific Whale Foundation that support ocean conservation. We hope you enjoy your adventure in Hawaii! Happy Travels!
