Welcome to Seek Out travel! We’re more than just a travel blog. It’s our mission to see the world and bring it to you, to spread the gospel of global adventures, and, of course, to travel better. We’re about authentic and sustainable travel and we aspire to see the world in an ethical, responsible and compassionate way.
And most of all, we want to bring you along for the ride!
This isn’t just about travel guides and looking back at our travels, although there will be a good deal of that. We are also here to learn about this amazing planet with you and to tell stories that will keep your wanderlust and thirst for knowledge quenched in an ongoing manner. There’s no end to the adventure. We want to carry an open dialogue with you and hope to be an ongoing source of travel content regardless if you’re planning a trip or not.

We are Ashlea and Derek, a couple based in Kansas City, Missouri who love travel and new adventures!
We’ve been to over 20 countries and counting in every hemisphere across the globe, and we’re always looking for the next adventure.
We love all things travel, enjoying the outdoors, fun cocktails and breweries, and spending time with our crazy cat, Luna.
We are currently working full time- I am a second grade teacher and Derek works in marketing. We travel as often as possible, and when we’re not traveling, we’re dreaming and planning our next adventure!
We just got married this last June and will be traveling as much as possible this year. We can’t wait to share our journey with you!
We are committed to traveling ethically and sustainably and leave the places we visit better than we found them and continue to educate ourselves to the needs and cultures of the communities we visit. We are passionate about doing so and this will be a huge focus within our content.
Lastly, we are just as much about storytelling as guiding. We’ll be seeking out stories of the places, cultures and people that make this world go and will use this space to share those stories.
