Can you Drink the Tap Water in Greece?
Yes, in most places in Greece it is safe to drink tap water. Especially in bars, restaurants and hotels you will find the water is safe to drink.
On our 2 week trip in Greece we drank the tap water everywhere we went (Crete, Santorini, Athens, Mykonos, Naxos) and not only was it safe but also tasted like good quality water. Especially on the mainland and big cities such as Athens the water is safe to drink.
In some smaller islands it is advised to buy bottled water. You can also buy a water bottle that filters your water to be on the safe side. A filtered water bottle is a more sustainable option to buying plastic water bottles if it is within your budget. If not, water bottles are easy to find everywhere you go.
Having said that, I drank tap water on all the Greek islands we went to and it was fine.
As a rule of thumb it is always better to ask a local if the tap water is safe to drink upon arrival.
